Brawn GP
One season. One championship. The greatest fairytale in Formula 1 history.
Brawn GP Formula One Team
Brawn GP is the most remarkable story in Formula 1 history. When Honda withdrew from F1 at the end of 2008, team principal Ross Brawn purchased the team for £1. With no title sponsor, a skeleton budget, and a car that had been secretly developed with a double diffuser loophole, Jenson Button won 6 of the first 7 races and the championship. The team was sold to Mercedes at the end of the season.

The BGP 001 is the greatest underdog story in F1 history. Secretly developed by Honda engineers before the team was sold for £1, the car featured a double diffuser that exploited a loophole in the 2009 regulations. Button won 6 of the first 7 races. The car ran with no title sponsor for most of the season — just white with yellow accents.
Brawn GP was sold to Mercedes-Benz at the end of 2009 and became the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team. Ross Brawn later became F1's Managing Director of Motorsports.
